Mr. Clarke is Elmwood’s Head of European CLO Capital Markets. He is responsible for managing the Firm’s European CLO Issuance process and CLO Investor Relations. He has 23 years of CLO trading and banking experience.
Prior to Elmwood, Mr. Clarke served Barclays for 18 years where he established Barclays European CLO Trading platform and ran that firm’s CLO Trading Business globally until 2019. He was also responsible for establishing Barclays European CLO Primary Business in 2013 and led the franchise until 2022, where Barclays were the #1 European arranger in his final two years. From 2023 to 2024, Mr. Clarke ran the origination and distribution for Barclays European GCFS (Global Credit & Financing Solutions) Business.
Prior to Barclays, Michael spent 3 years in Bear Stearns’ Structured Rates Trading group.
Mr. Clarke holds a First Class Honours BSc in Economics & Finance from the University College Dublin in 2002.
